American City Business Journals owns and operates 44 business publications throughout the U.S. Currently, oversee the design and production of three weekly publications, Albany Business First, Houston Business Journal and Orlando Business Journal. On a daily basis, I supervise one designer while working with editors, advertising designers, ad reps and more to ensure production runs smoothly. In addition to those duties, I design cover stories and web graphics that include data visualizations, maps and illustrations.

The Baltimore Business Journal is owned by American City Business Journals. At the business journal, I designed web graphics and the weekly print paper, including informational graphics and illustrations, and oversaw photography. Between my daily duties, I also helped to manage the BBJ’s special sections and our annual “Book of Lists” publication, requesting quotes from printers, mapping out content and setting deadlines.

The Sun Sentinel is owned and operated by Tribune Publishing with distribution in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. There, I created the cover for the weekly entertainment guide “Showtime,” as well as designing the weekly food section, maps, graphics and various illustrations. I also dabbled in some multi-media work, creating interactive maps and animations.

Since 2021, I have been involved with the Print Competition Committee that oversees SND’s annual Best of News Design competition.

Per the SND website, an Award of Excellence “is granted for truly excellent work, going beyond mere technical or aesthetic competency.” An award of excellence was granted for the Jacksonville Business Journal’s cover titled “Much ADU about nothing.”

The Houston Business Journal’s multi-part series “Reimagine Houston” won in both the Longform, Special Coverage and Story Design, News categories.
